Biography

A powerful right-handed batsman and attacking leg-spinner, Afridi is known as one of the most feared all-rounders in world cricket. Nicknamed ‘Boom Boom Afridi’ for his aggressive style of play, he made his debut for Pakistan in a one-day international against Kenya in Nairobi in 1996, aged 16. His Test bow followed two years and 66 ODIs later in Karachi, and he marked the occasion with 5-52 in a drawn match with Australia.
