Biography

A reliable top-order batsman, South African Petersen retired from international cricket in 2015 in order to pursue a career in the English domestic game as a Kolpak player. Formerly of Essex, Glamorgan and Somerset, Petersen signed a two-year deal with Lancashire just 16 days after calling time on his Proteas career at the age of 34.   He represented his country in 36 Tests, making his debut in 2010 and recording 2,093 runs at an average of 34.88, including five centuries.
