A wily off-spinner by trade, Tredwell has become a key component in England's limited-overs sides. He signed a full-time contract with Kent in 2002 and quickly established himself as a regular in all formats. Also a useful lower-order batsman, he helped Kent to championship promotion in 2009, taking 69 first-class wickets, and was rewarded with an England call-up as cover for Graeme Swann on the tour of South Africa.
