Full Name: Mirwais Ashraf
Born: June 30 1988 , Kunduz, Afghanistan

T20 debut: Afghanistan v Canada, Colombo, Feb 4 2010
Batting Style: Right-hand bat

An economical medium-pacer, the powerfully-built Mirwais has frustrated many a batsman into losing his wicket. He marked his first-class debut with 4-24 against Netherlands, but bettered that by taking 6-35 versus Zimbabwe as he captained his country for the first time. A capable lower-order batsman, he, like many of his teammates, doesn’t hold back with the bat and provided a memorable highlight in the World Twenty20 loss to South Africa in 2010 by launching Albie Morkel out of the ground for a monstrous six.
