Agar stormed onto the international scene with a world-record Test score by a number 11 when he crashed 98 against England to start the 2013 Ashes. He then removed Alastair Cook to become the first teenage Australian spinner to take a Test wicket, but struggled thereafter and was dropped after the second Test at Lord's. Agar had to wait until Australia's tour of England two years later to get back into the international frame, when he was included as the sole spinner in their limited-overs squad following a strong tour of India with Australia A.
