Biography
Topley broke into Essex's LV= County Championship side in 2011 and took little time in showing his talent. The fast bowler, who was once struck on the head in the nets by Kevin Pietersen, took 14 wickets in his first four championship matches, including two five-wicket hauls, and worked in tandem with the economical David Masters when opening the bowling for Essex. The 17-year-old is a hostile bowler who uses his height of 6ft 7in to extract an impressive amount of bounce. He was called up to the England Under-19 squad for their one-day series with South Africa.
