Biography
A tall and athletic represented Staffordshire and Midlands at junior level. However, cricket was always his first love and he played for England at Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 level. Once hailed as one of the brightest prospects in the English game, he rejected an offer from Northamptonshire to join Nottinghamshire in 2000. He suffered a shoulder injury in 2001, sidelining him for six weeks, but made an instant impact upon his return with 5-24 against Suffolk in the third round of the Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy followed by 6-93 against Derbyshire.
