Rob White

A right-handed batsman, White burst on to the scene by hitting 277 not out - the highest maiden first-class century in the history of English cricket - against Gloucestershire in just his fifth encounter.

He has since enjoyed high moments interspersed with low ones, illustrated by him passing 1,000 first-class runs in 2008 - just two years after striking just 117 in seven championship matches.

While his patchy four-day form has seen White struggle to always hold down a place in the XI, he has featured more regularly in limited-overs cricket.

In July 2012, Northants announced White’s contract would not be renewed at the end of that season.
