Croft is an off-spinning all-rounder who has played for Glamorgan since 1989. He captained the Welsh county from 2003 until near the end of the 2006 season. Croft played 21 Test matches and 50 ODIs for England, including playing in the 1999 World Cup, to become the most capped Welshman to represent England before he retired from international cricket in January 2004. He was also selected for the Hong Kong Sixes squad in 2003, where he was the man of the match as England beat Pakistan in the final.
