Sam Northeast

Northeast is a promising batsman who is on Kent’s books and has played for England Under-19s.

He started playing cricket at the age of seven and five years later cracked 19 hundreds in a school term. By the age of 14 he was playing in the Harrow First XI.

He has a strong sporting connection, having played rackets, squash, rugby and football at county level. He is also a talented cross-country runner

He made 96 on his second XI debut for Kent and was part of a Getty XI formed to play the touring Sri Lanka side in 2006.

He made his first-class debut for Kent in 2007, playing in one LV County Championship match.

Northeast was involved in England Under-19s’ tri-series in Sri Lanka and was part of the squad for the Under-19 World Cup in early 2008.

He did not feature for the U19s in the summer but was included in the squad to tour South Africa in early 2009.

Having finished at Harrow in 2008, he made himself available to Kent for the entire 2009 season by deciding to delay going to university for a year.
