Simon Guy
Guy topped the Yorkshire second XI batting averages in 1998, with an impressive average of 106.
He made his full county debut in 2000 and in that same year took his first haul of five catches in an innings.
He replaced veteran Richard Blakey as Yorkshire’s first-choice wicket-keeper in 2003 but has struggled to make the position his own and has been in and out of the side.
He was restricted to four County Championship appearances during the promotion-winning season of 2005, with Ismail Dawood usually preferred behind the stumps.
The signing of Gerard Brophy then hindered Guy's progress further.
He played four Twenty20 games in 2008, making seven runs and taking just one catch, and one NatWest Pro40 game when Brophy was injured.
In February 2009 Guy underwent surgery for a cerebral abscess but was expected to play again that summer.
Yorkshire decided not to renew his contract at the end of the 2009 campaign.
