Biography
Simon Jones battled back from a potentially career-threatening knee injury to become a vital part of England's pace attack. The son of England pace bowler Jeff Jones, he joined the Glamorgan staff in 1997 and he made his first-class debut against Durham in 1998. The young Llangennech bowler developed his bowling skills under the guidance of future England coach Duncan Fletcher and, over the winter of 1999/2000, he also worked with former Olympic long jump star Lynn Davies in an attempt to eradicate the problem of over-stepping.
