Steven Croft

A graduate of the Lancashire Academy, Croft is now established as one of the senior figures in a youthful Red Rose side.

Awarded a senior contract at Old Trafford in 2005, he found the majority of his first-team opportunities were limited to one-day cricket early in his professional career.

However, he was named young player of the year in 2007 and picked up the player of the year award the following summer after a successful season with bat and ball.

Croft is an aggressive middle-order batsman who is capable of bowling medium pace and off-spin, but perhaps his greatest asset is his fielding. Agile and alert, he is among the best in the country.

In 2011, he frequently captained Lancashire in limited-overs matches and it was he who hit the winning runs as the club secured an historic LV= County Championship success at Taunton.

Croft had an outstanding limited-overs season in 2012, yet struggled in the championship as Lancashire were relegated a year after winning the domestic game's biggest prize.
