Meaker is bowler of express pace who has established himself as a key part of Surrey's attack.
He was born in South Africa but moved to England in 2001. Two years later he won the Daily Telegraph fast bowling award, the Channel 4 outstanding team player award and the AA Thompson fielding award.
Within a fortnight of leaving school Meaker gained his first England Under-19 call-up, having played some pre-season friendlies for Surrey. He was rewarded with a county contract for the 2008 season and played in the U19 World Cup in Malaysia.
Following first-class and List A debuts in 2008, he played a more prominent role in 2009, although he did not feature in the Twenty20 Cup.
The following year saw steady improvement and a T20 debut, but it was in 2011 that Meaker really announced himself - helping Surrey earn LV= County Championship promotion and win the Clydesdale Bank 40.
That summer and the following winter he represented England Lions. Between times he played in two one-day internationals on England's tour of India during October.
A lower back injury cut short Meaker's time with the Lions on their winter tour of Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates, but he was included in England's Performance Squad for the first time in 2012 - although he had to make do with more Lions appearances that summer.
In November that year, he was called up to England's Test tour of India as cover for Steven Finn.
