Biography
Born in South Africa to an English mother, Groenewald moved to England in 2004 to play league cricket in Birmingham. His performances captured the attention of Warwickshire, for whom he made his first-class debut in 2006. A seam bowler and powerful lower middle-order batsman, Groenewald nevertheless found opportunities to play four-day cricket limited during his time at Edgbaston, making just 13 championship appearances in three years.
