Lungley is a local Derbyshire seamer who made his county debut in 2000 but has been plagued by injuries since.
The worst of these saw him miss the entire 2004 season after having an operation for severe tendonitis in a knee.
He played just three championship matches in a miserable season for the club in 2005, but was more involved in the National League, featuring in all but four games.
Lungley made his debut for England Under-19s in 2006, and enjoyed his most successful summer in 2007, taking 59 LV= County Championship wickets at an average of 26 and winning the player-of-the-year award.
However, the injury curse returned the following summer, when he was restricted to just four championship appearances.
After serving a suspension for an incident in a second XI match, Lungley joined Lancashire on a four-week loan deal in August 2009. And he was recalled to Derby for the tail-end of the season and handed a contract extension for 2010 for his wholehearted efforts.
