A move from Essex to Derbyshire kick-started the career of seam bowler Palladino.
He mustered 86 wickets in 38 first-class appearances for the former, having made his debut in 2003. However, by 2010 Palladino had fallen out of favour at Chelmsford and was released.
Handed greater responsibility by Derbyshire, for whom he opened the bowling, Palladino enjoyed a notable upturn in fortunes.
In 2011 the London-born paceman claimed 52 first-class wickets at an average of 27, a mark he then bettered by picking up 56 scalps at 26 the following summer.
That helped Derbyshire gain promotion as winners of LV= County Championship Division Two, and Palladino also demonstrated his ability with the bat by striking 106 in a tour match against Australia A, having come in as nightwatchman on day one.
