Biography

Philander is a hard-hitting South African all-rounder who has made his name with Cape Cobras. He had a short spell with Devon in 2004 when he helped them upset Leicestershire in the C&G Trophy. Philander made his one-day international and Twenty20 international debuts in 2007, the latter coming in the ICC World Twenty20. He joined Middlesex for the 2008 season and made a useful impact in the championship and trophy before he was called up to the Proteas’ one-day squad to face England in the NatWest Series.
