The England and Wales Cricket Board's 'The Great Exhibition' campaign won the 'Best Use of New Media, Digital and Broadcast' category at the Public Relations Consultants Association Awards held at London's Grosvenor Marriott Hotel.
The PRCA Awards is held annually and provides an opportunity for PR professionals to recognise, celebrate and reward excellence across the industry.
The nomination was submitted by Threepipe, the PR agency appointed by the ECB to activate ‘The Great Exhibition’ campaign throughout the successful Ashes-winning 2009 season.
Will Collinson, ECB head of marketing said: ”We are delighted that cricket has received such a prestigious Award.
"One of the key objectives of the campaign was to encourage fans from across the country to take part in what promised to be the greatest exhibition of cricket this country has ever seen.
“With a focus on attracting new, younger fans to the game it was important to develop a compelling and creative new media strategy that would successfully reach out and engage with this audience.
"Looking back now the campaign has delivered some fantastic results and our thanks has to go to Threepipe for its creativity and hard work as well as our own in-house new media team led by Julian Goode."
