A 28-000 seater stadium which regularly hosts one-day internationals and also staged a Test against Bangladesh in 2002 with the hosts winning by an innings thanks to a Graeme Smith double hundred.

Staged its first international match in 1992 when India defeated South Africa in an ODI and was the venue for a hat-trick by Pakistan’s Waqar Younis against New Zealand in an ODI in 1994.

Was used as a venue during the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2003 and hosted the fifth ODI on England’s 2004-05 tour – a match the hosts won by seven runs despite Kevin Pietersen making an unbeaten hundred off only 69 balls.
