Providence Stadium, Guyana
Yet another new stadium which was built for the World Cup, the $30m venue ran into problems ahead of the 2007 tournament.
Such were the concerns that the stadium, which has a capacity of 15,000, would not be ready in time, organisers considered moving the fixtures to other venues.
The building work was completed - just - and the scheduled six World Cup matches took place.
The first of those, when South Africa edged out Sri Lanka by one wicket, was one of the games of the tournament with Lasith Malinga taking four wickets in as many balls to almost single-handedly procure an unlikely victory.
The stadium has played host to just one Test to date when Sri Lanka beat West Indies by 121 runs.
Set 437 to win, the home side could not deal with Chaminda Vaas and Muttiah Muralitharan and fell some way short.
