NatWest CricketForce 2008 - Farsley - Katherine Brunt Sarah Taylor

NatWest CricketForce came to Farsley last spring

As usual Christmas has come and gone in a flash and it seems like 2008 did too.

We’re now fully up and running into 2009 and this year’s NatWest CricketForce event is fast approaching. We now have over 1,000 clubs registered for the ‘Groundforce meets Changing Rooms’ event. In fact we’re nearer to 1,100.

Right from the day registrations opened on 25 June last year we’ve had a great response. The enquiries and registrations just keep coming and coming. A total of 1,375 clubs registered last year and so far we look set to overtake that as we look at NatWest CricketForce growing more and more each year.

With the CricketForce weekend getting ever closer we have now identified our showcase clubs for this year. They are Ashtead in Surrey, Calne in Wiltshire, Highway in Warwickshire, Ipswich in Suffolk and Sacriston in Durham.

We will be launching the event weekend at Ashtead on Friday 3 April and then travelling from there to the four other showcase clubs to help them out and highlight what they’re up to.

Furthermore, both Yorkshire and Staffordshire have selected their own showcase clubs and so Cheadle and Barnsley respectively will be getting support from their county and at the same time trying to raise the profile of NatWest CricketForce in their area.

One reason for the growing interest in NatWest CricketForce is, no doubt, the excellent array of official supporters. We have recently added Durant Cricket and Marley to the growing list of businesses offering their support.

Not only is the group growing but they are all becoming more and more supportive to our clubs.

Over the last two months we have produced a number of competitions with clubs having the chance to win Build Center vouchers, a Bowdry machine, paint from Dulux Decorator Centres, fencing from Jacksons and money off at Autoguide.

It won’t stop there either as all of the official supporters are keen to do more for the clubs.

If you want to be in with a chance of getting hold of prizes like these for your club then sign up now for NatWest CricketForce.

If you have any questions about what’s in this blog or about NatWest CricketForce in general, please email the helpdesk – natwestcricketforce@ecb.co.uk – at any time.
