A lick of paint!

Dulux Decorator Centres have been a saviour to Highway Cricket Club in Coventry, Warwickshire - by donating almost 200 litres of paint, free of charge.
As part of Highway’s NatWest CricketForce plans, one of the projects was a complete re-paint of almost every wall at the club and also several external painting jobs (floodlights to name one).
Highway CC have teamed up with Andy Edwards, store manager at Coventry’s Dulux Decorator Centres, to make the painting projects possible. Andy has also pledged his time at the weekend (April 3-5) to oversee the painting work. He hopes a handful of his Coventry colleagues will also give up a few hours for the cricketing cause.
Elsewhere in planet NatWest CricketForce, we have managed to sell two of our three snooker tables to make space for the new members’ lounge. We made a massive profit of £3 for the two – that’s right, £1.50 each for a snooker table. We just wanted them out of the way, and to be honest, nobody wants to be buying a table that is almost 20 years old for anything more than that.
HSS Tool Hire has continued to be of great service to us, providing us with a ‘Whacker-Plate’ for the new patio area, and also continued use of a mini-digger. HSS have been a tremendous help up to now.
The patio area is almost ready for slabbing, thanks to the efforts of over a dozen committed members, digging, filling, re-filling, flattening, spreading and raking the hard core for the area. The jobs were hard work, and also very time consuming, which makes the weekend’s work so much easier come April.
Next phase: shower area, and thanks to Screwfix, Nuneaton, we have the dozen showers donated already!
