Can't wait for The Oval
Posted in ICC World Twenty20
We’re now back in London after our 10-day trip to Taunton preparing for what is set to be the biggest game of our lives tomorrow (after the World Cup final of course!).
We played three, won three from our group which sees us take on Australia in the semi-final at The Oval.
We played really good cricket against India in our first game – it was one of our best Twenty20 performances. But then in the last two games we didn’t play to our usual standards.
However, that doesn’t worry me too much – if anything I am encouraged by it as hopefully it shows that we will peak at the right time – tomorrow against the Aussies.
It's going to be massive for all of us. It’s a fantastic occasion for both teams and we’re all really looking forward to it and hoping to go out there and play some good cricket for the crowd.
There will be additional pressure on us but it adds to the occasion. There will be key performances from key players and it is those players who will win the game for whichever team.
A lot has been said in the media about our last three games against the Australians, which we have lost. But they have all been dead games – two warm-ups and a dead rubber in the World Cup. That won’t have any bearing on how we approach tomorrow and how we play.
The whole team is so excited with the massive incentive of a Lord’s final on Sunday. We can’t wait!
