ECB's Dave Leighton talking to Cheadle CC

I work with Dave Leighton, Hannah Vaughan and the ECB team on supporting the NatWest CricketForce initiative in the West Midlands.

As a club person I know first hand the benefits that this fantastic event can bring to clubs, from my involvement at Shifnal CC

Well nationally we have got over 1100 clubs registered to date for this year's event - if you haven't registered yet waste no time in doing so is your starting point.

In the West Midlands, the counties I work with have the following registration numbers to date:

Herefordshire - 10 clubs
Shropshire - 21 clubs
Staffordshire - 64 clubs
Warwickshire - 21 clubs
Worcestershire - 26 clubs

Still quite a few clubs to register, particularly Focus Clubs - don't waste the opportunity to Be Involved with this fantastic event.

Loads of articles are on the website, just in case you are not sure what it is all about.

Most counties have had club seminars and NWCF has been on the agenda;I've done three presentations so far. It's great that registration numbers have increased following seminars.

Just a note for anyone trying to register - you have to have have access rights to the website, so you will need to check with your club administrator; if you don't have any luck with that contact your CDM or the NWCF help desk via

CricketForce is just one of several initiatives that County Boards have to mange now and CDMs and their teams are doing a tremendous job in moving this forward - special mention to Andy Grice in Staffs who is really stealing a march.

Staffs are running their own showcase club - Cheadle CC and full details of their project are on the latest NWCF newsletter. Warwickshire have Highway CC, who are a national showcase club.

I'm working with a few clubs on a one to one basis and I am happy to hear from you if you want any help - whatever it is
