Falling in love with NWCF
Posted in NatWest CricketForce 2009
Well, the headline needed to be Valentine's Day related didn’t it?
As the NatWest CricketForce 2009 weekend creeps quietly upon Highway CC in Warwickshire, things seem to be clicking into place quite nicely.
Things are being promised and volunteers still offering their services for this grand event.
However, there is lots of preparation work to be done, especially on our old smoking shelter and ‘lean-to’ building leading into our soon-to-be bar area/spectators area/members lounge/meeting room/scorebox etc..
Monday sees the beginning of the work which will change the face of club life at the Highway. Members are poised to be demolishing the old, rickety building and getting things ready for the weekend in April.
It is important to remember that there are still key people needed to carry out an operation such as this, for example, the donation of time from the all-important members, project managers, mini-digger donators, skip people ect.
We will also be digging a foundation for our soon to be patio area with a BBQ. On that note, we would like to thank HSS Tool Hire, Tile Hill, for the use of their mini-digger for the digging of the foundation.
We have been donated a brand new cooling glass-washer which will furnish the new bar area, so thanks to Winterhalter of Milton Keynes.
I will see you all there!
Not long now!
