Charged up and ready to go

So after months of preparation, the attentions of the ECB Media team, a visit from Director of England Cricket Operations, John Carr, and a couple of visa issues we finally left England on Wednesday evening.
After a pretty uneventful journey to the other side of the world we arrived at our hotel in Parramatta in the Sydney suburbs at around 10am this morning. We even passed through the dreaded Sydney customs officers unscathed, which by all accounts is no mean feat.
After a couple of hours to unwind and unpack we have just had a nice buffet lunch in the hotel restaurant. The hotel is great and this afternoon the boys are having an aqua aerobic session in the pool guided by Fran our physio.
The challenge for today is to try and stay awake for as long as possible to minimise the effect of the travelling so the pool session will do the guys the world of good.
One challenge that the management team have identified already is the position of a Hooters Bar just over the road from the hotel.
We've got our ideas on which of the players will be spotted in there first and I’ll keep you updated as to who gets caught.
It is literally over the road from our hotel so I guess I know where we might be celebrating should we achieve our aim of retaining the Ashes.
I’ve had a nightmare in that the electric beard trimmer that I fully charged up before leaving home decided to switch itself on in my bag somewhere between London and Sydney and has drained itself completely.
With no charger packed I may end up looking like Grizzly (Chris) Adams by the time I return home – more realistically though I think it might be the end of my dodgy goatee at least for a few weeks anyway.
