Get involved and reap the benefit
Posted in NatWest CricketForce 2008
NatWest CricketForce is an annual ‘Groundforce meets Changing Rooms’ self-help cricket club event to rejuvenate and improve facilities (pavilions and grounds) and much more! It has been created for the benefit and long term future of grass roots cricket.
It all began in 2002 when one club took part; Lingfield CC in Surrey. A year later in 2003, six clubs took part, and 15 clubs took part in 2004. 2005 then saw a massive jump where, due to a massive marketing push, 665 cricket clubs took part, involving 50,000 volunteers with £15-20million of investment into grassroots cricket.
There was a big increase again for 2006 where 1050 clubs participated with over 70,000 volunteers involved and approximately £25million investment into cricket clubs. Finally last year saw 1150 clubs involved with over 80,000 volunteers helping and £35million worth of investment.
NatWest CricketForce is the biggest volunteering event in Sport in the UK and, with the help of more and more cricket clubs, it will only get bigger and better!
To help clubs along in making improvements to the their grounds and pavilions NatWest CricketForce has a growing number of Official Supporters who provide excellent offers and discounts to all registered clubs.
Official Supporters include Daktronics (electronic scoreboards), Easyscore (portable scoreboards), Autoguide (autorollers), Poweroll (autorollers), Jacksons Fine Fencing, H & R Johnson Tiles, Synergy (top dressers and aerators), Community Repaint (heavily discounted paint), Barlows Electricals, and Climate Cover (flat sheet covers). Details of all of our Official Supporters are available on the NatWest CricketForce section - and there will be more added to this list very soon!
