I love it when a plan comes together
Posted in NatWest CricketForce 2009
After a long and detailed consultation process regarding the plans for the new changing facilities, which ensured we have designed a building that will fully meet our needs for the long term future, the final plans have been agreed and submitted to our local authority for planning permission.
I have been advised that the timescales for the decision will be six to eight weeks meaning we will know the outcome by Friday 13 February - is that a good omen?
This would give us six weeks to get the building erected to meet our deadline in terms of the grant funding we have achieved and in time for the big NatWest CricketForce weekend.
Next steps are to complete the tendering process to agree our chosen supplier and submit the application for building regulations and utilities.
The tendering process is moving along nicely and we hope to have made our decision by the end of January. Work is ongoing to ensure we have water and electricity supplies to the site in time for the building to be erected.
So a summary of where we are currently...
We have achieved a great deal so far and the effort of everyone has been fantastic. It’s now time for a little break over Christmas, then I imagine it will be full-on for the early months of 2009 and we will again need to put in gargantuan efforts no doubt.
It’s a challenge I’m looking forward to and know with the support available, 2009 will be a historic year for Sacriston Colliery Cricket Club.
I would like to wish you all a merry Christmas and an even merrier New Year (hic).
