Ashes cheer for Mickleburgh
Posted in Domestic Cricket
I have been here at the Darren Lehmann Academy in Adelaide for eight weeks and am enjoying the disappointment on all Australians’ faces.
With the Test match in Adelaide it has given me a chance to watch some cricket and catch up with a few friends.
As it has been a tiring few weeks on the training front - two hard gym sessions and three difficult cardio work-outs - we were rewarded with a lighter week, which was pleasing to myself and the rest of the lads.
Unfortunately the weather on weekends has been very bad so we’ve had numerous games called off.
However, this has provided time to visit a few places around Adelaide, including a wine-tasting trip.
South Australia is known for producing some of the best wines in the world and, although not being a big fan of the drink, it has been good to sample some reds.
It's a bit worrying about the liking I have taken to it and am hoping to visit the Barossa Valley, where they are produced, in the near future.
This week we played against a Redbacks side in a Twenty20, which gave the lads great opportunity to test themselves against a good team and, although we came up short, it was a good run-out for everyone.
With the Christmas period coming up, we have one week left of training before I head over to Geelong for two weeks.
