Loving every minute in Dubai

We're taking the positives from every game we play in Dubai and working on those rather than the negatives

It’s been a great experience for everyone of us in Dubai so far and we are all enjoying it out here.

It’s the first time we’ve ever done anything like this. We’re learning what it is like to play on different wickets and what it is like to be in a different environment with a different culture.

Although we have lost our first three matches against Pakistan (two Twenty20s and one 40-over game), we’re not a million miles behind them.

We’re taking the positives from every game and working on those rather than the negatives. We’re all really positive in the camp and are still sure we can pull a result out.

I feel as though I have kept well. I’ve had no catches or stumpings yet but I’m keeping well and keeping the energy going through the field.

I also batted well in the first ODI. Me and Matty Askin put on a partnership of 49, and I got 23.

The result didn’t go our way but there were positives to take out of the game.

There have been some great batting performances from the likes of Gordon (Laidlaw). Callum (Flynn) has looked really good as well, it’s just that final push. We keep getting to the final third of games in a good position and we just can’t seem to bring it home.

I don’t know if that’s down to a lack of experience, because they are a very experienced side and used to this kind of stage.

It will definitely help us the more we play against them. You know where to bowl to each person. We have a target set for each bowler and batsman now, of where we want to bowl, what each of their batsmen does, and how we want to play their bowlers.

Even though all three games have been played at the Global Cricket Academy, we’ve had three different pitches.

We played the first T20 game on one that was slow and low, good for the spinners, then we went on to the strip next door which was a seamer’s dream with great bounce. Then we went back on to the other pitch and that was an absolute dream of a batting track. It was a great wicket.

The lads have adapted really well though and it hasn’t been that hot really. It’s been bearable, although sometimes it is hot in the mornings.

We’re all enjoying it. We’ve never done stuff like this or had this much publicity before.

Not a lot of people know about PD cricket, so now more are getting to know about it we want to leave a positive impression on everybody that comes to watch us, and show them how good our cricket is.
