After 16 years in the wilderness, Derbyshire Falcons are heading to Finals Day at last. They made light work of their chase at The Bristol County Ground, Wayne Madsen leading the way with a composed 47 as Gloucestershire were left too much to do to defend a below par score. Madsen fell with nine runs to win but Leus du Plooy and Alex Hughes ensured the Falcons will be at Edgbaston.
TYE ON TARGET
Derbyshire had flown out of the traps, racing to 44 without loss from four overs. But Andrew Tye wasn't going to let that continue, bowling a perfect leg-stump yorker to Luis Reece to temporarily put the breaks on the Falcons' chase. And didn't he enjoy it!
RAMPAUL BREAKS THE TYE
Ravi Rampaul began the day as the joint-leading wicket-taker in the competition, level on 21 wickets with Matt Parkinson. It took until the final over of his spell, but Rampaul moved clear at the top of the charts, pinning Andrew Tye leg-before to help restrict Gloucestershire to just 135-7.
TOP CATCH, CRITCH
Matt Critchley didn't need any help taking his two wickets. Ryan Higgins chipped a simple return catch to him, but dismissing Jack Taylor required more work, Critchley sprinting towards midwicket after a high ball, a full-stretch dive enabling a spectacular catch.
