Vitality Blast | Crawley ton & derby wins for Lancs and Surrey

Zak Crawley's maiden T20 century led Kent Spitfires to victory

Kent Spitfires 183/2 beat Hampshire 182/6 by eight wickets
Essex Eagles 197/5 beat Sussex Sharks 185/8 by 12 runs
Surrey 218/5 beat Middlesex 188/5 by 30 runs
Lancashire Lightning 148/4 beat Yorkshire Vikings 145/9 by six wickets

CREEPY CLASSY CRAWLEY
Zak Crawley is going from strength to strength. His latest feat came against Hampshire, striking his maiden T20 hundred in an imperious display which saw his Kent Spitfires side cruise to victory. It was a chanceless 108 not out, in which he struck 14 fours and two sixes, smashing the ball with precision square of the wicket with sheer class. Crawley became Kent's sixth T20 centurion.Β

LANCASHIRE CLAIM ROSES DERBY
It was hardly the most eye-catching Roses match, but Lancashire Lightning won't care one bit, as they defeated rivals Yorkshire Vikings at Emerald Headingley. The Vikings had gotten off to a terrific start, scoring 62 in the PowerPlay, but suffered a mighty collapse to post a modest 145. Yorkshire made early inroads but the calm head of captain Dane Vilas saw Lancashire home.

JACKS LIGHTS UP LORD'S
Surrey have the double over local rivals Middlesex, winning the London derby at Lord's after a magnificent onslaught by Will Jacks. The Surrey opener crashed three fours and five sixes in a terrific 55, which former part of a century stand with Hashim Amla. Amla himself made 67 and some rapid cameos in the middle order took Surrey to 218. Stevie Eskinazi gave the chase a good crack with 77, but the target was too much for Middlesex.

LAWRENCE LIGHTNING
Essex Eagles claimed their first Vitality Blast victory of the season, beating Sussex Sharks thanks largely to the efforts of Dan Lawrence. He came to the crease in the second over and instantly made his mark, belting Ollie Robinson for 14 in an over. Lawrence followed that up with three sixes in four balls against Danny Briggs, and his innings of 81 was packed full of typically stylish strokes. He even picked up two wickets in an over as the Eagles defended 197.Β
