This summer, over four weekends in June and July, cricket clubs all across England and Wales will be flinging open their doors to their local community for CricketFest 2017 – a celebration of everything that’s great about the game.
Residents, players, ex-players, families, kids, first-timers, local celebs and volunteers; absolutely everyone is invited to come along and enjoy an amazing day of cricketing fun.
From kids cricket to barbecues, drinks tents to women’s soft ball cricket, “traditional” matches to inflatable slides and bouncy castles to cricket teas, local clubs will be cramming in the fun and games and entertaining everyone who pops in.
CricketFest 2017 will kick off on Saturday 24 June and will run across that weekend and the following three (1/2, 9/10 and 17/18 July).
Speaking about CricketFest, Matt Dwyer, Director of Participation at the ECB, said: “We want to raise the profile of every club and champion their brilliant members and volunteers. We want each club to continue to play a large part in their community, to get more kids playing and trying our sport as well as inviting ex-players to dust off their pads and bat and join us for a game.
“CricketFest is vital to this so the more people who hear about it and attend, the better it is for our clubs, our communities and the future of our game.”
