Ben Duckett was the shining light on a damp day. After Northants were put into bat by Sussex, Duckett smashed an incredible 193 from 200 balls, lashing 26 fours and annoying many of the Sussex attack, especially Jofra Archer, who took exception to one remarkable shot back over his head. Is it too soon to talk about an England recall yet?!
RAIN RAIN GO AWAY
After the glorious weather at Edgbaston on Saturday, we got all the rain today. It was a frustrating first day of action with the weather having an influence on every game. The first casualty was the top of the table clash in Division One between Lancashire and Essex - that succumbed just before lunch. Yorkshire v Middlesex and Derbyshire v Glamorgan were also abandoned for the day without a ball being bowled.

Off the back of their NatWest T20 Blast success, Notts looked to enhance their chances of winning a third trophy this year by claiming victory over second place Worcestershire.
