Number four - Bresnan's roses rampage

Lancashire Lightning crossed the Pennines with honours even after a rain-affected tie at Old Trafford.

The two sides were locked in an equal fifth place in the North group, and quarter-final qualification hung in the balance for both.

The stakes are always high in roses cricket and, under foreboding Headingley skies, a capacity crowd was once again ready to brave the elements.

What unfolded was one of THE great games of 2017.

Chasing 188 for victory, Lightning needed 68 from 30 balls with six wickets in hand and skipper Steven Croft 50 not out.

The responsibility of bowling overs 18 and 20 in torrential rain fell to stand-in Vikings captain Tim Bresnan. The rest is history.
