George Garton will now join the Lions for both the red-ball and white-ball sections of their forthcoming West Indies tour, following Sam Curran’s call into England’s T20 squad.
The Sussex left-arm quick, who spent time in Australia before Christmas with both the Lions and England, had originally been selected for the white-ball section of the Lions tour, with a three-match one-day series against West Indies A in Antigua from 6-11 March.
But following Curran’s elevation into the England squad for the T20 Tri-Series against Australia and New Zealand, the selectors have invited Garton to join the full Lions tour.
The squad leave for Jamaica next Wednesday, ahead of four-day matches against West Indies A in Trelawny from 11-14 February, and at Sabina Park in Kingston from 18-21 February.
The Lions then head for Antigua for a third four-day match before switching their focus to white-ball cricket.
