SOMERSET WIN THRILLER
Over 700(!) runs were scored at the Ageas Bowl as Somerset recorded their best-ever chase in List A cricket, knocking off 356 with the last ball of the game. Somerset miss out on the knock-out rounds due to Essex winning their respective match.
James Vince impressed once again in Hampshire colours as he hit a well-crafted 109 from 93 deliveries. It wasn't enough to get his team a win who are already in the semi-final but it was a nice reminder to the England selectors of his class.
Seven fours. Five sixes. 100 off 72 balls. It's fair to say England skipper Eoin Morgan prepared for the upcoming One-Day internationals in some style. Long may this form continue.
EAGLES ARE SOARING
Essex booked their place in the quarter-finals with a comprehensive victory over Kent at Chelmsford. Dan Lawrence & Ravi Bopara both hit hundreds as the Eagles posted a demanding 337/7. Kent fell well short and were dismissed for 184.
SHOT OF THE DAY
Somerset's James Hildreth channeled his inner Kevin Pietersen as he brought out the switch-hit and launched it over the ropes for SIX!
