2. Having the right people in place
In this section we go into more detail about recruitment procedures and guidance to ensure you appoint the appropriate staff. Below you'll find guidance and templates for recruitment along with information on vetting checks and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Vetting checks using the Disclosure and Barring Service
All organisations working with children have safeguarding responsibilities placed upon them by legislation and guidance.
The ECB vetting process requires an Enhanced DBS and Barred List check which you can click here to find out more about.

3. What to do if you have concerns
Inside this area there is more information if you ever have any concerns about a child or the behaviour of an adult you should share them.
Your club should have a Club Welfare officer who you can talk to. If they do not, or you are unable to talk to them, you can speak to the chairperson, or your County Welfare Officer or the Safeguarding Team at safeguarding@ecb.co.uk or Tel: 0207 432 1200.
If a child is at immediate risk do not hesitate to call the Police or local services immediately.
ECB encourage anyone with any concerns to contact us. You can do this by calling 020 7432 1200 and asking for a member of the safeguarding team or by emailing safeguarding@ecb.co.uk.
