Chris Jordan heading to Adelaide Strikers

The Adelaide Strikers have secured the services of Sussex and England's Chris Jordan.

The Adelaide Strikers have signed Sussex Sharks and England all-rounder Chris Jordan for the sixth edition of the Big Bash League.

Jordan will serve as a replacement for Adil Rashid who starred for the Strikers with 16 wickets in his nine appearances last winter. Rashid is expected to be unavailable due to international duty with England.

Adelaide Strikers Head Coach Jason Gillespie was delighted to have secured the services of Jordan, describing his well-round game as highly-suited to T20 cricket.

"Chris is an all-rounder who has represented England with distinction and we are delighted to have secured his services,” he said.

“He bowls very good pace, is renowned for taking early wickets and he is also known for his death bowling - and he’s also one of the best fielders in the world.

“He’s a quality cricketer who has all three strings to his bow, and we’re extremely excited to be welcoming here to the Adelaide Strikers.”

Jordan also has overseas T20 experience in the Indian Premier League with the Royal Challengers Bangalore, where he played nine matches picking up 11 wickets at an average of 23.45.
