FIREWORKS GET US GOING
You can’t beat a spot of pyro to get the show on the road and the Southampton faithful were treated to a delightful display of pink and green plumes that, inadvertently, caused a very brief delay to the first ball of The Hundred being bowled! But, don’t worry, we’ll let them off.
BEN DUCKETT’S CLASS
It was a lacklustre display with the bat from the Welsh Fire, but one man who befitted his side’s name and brought some heat to the crease was Duckett. The left-hander came in after two early wickets had landed his side in trouble, but an impressive 41 - including five elaborate fours - at least gave the visitors something to defend.
GEORGIA ADAMS IN DJ BOOTH
With the match going smoothly for Southern Brave, what else is there to do but get up and dance? If you’re a Brave player - namely, Georgia Adams - there is nothing else to do. With Steph Nieuwenhuys playing the tunes, it was an incredible night at The Ageas Bowl.
RUN OUT CHAOS
We all love a bit of chaos, and this match delivered. Josh Cobb tried taking a run, and confusion struck between him and Ben Duckett. Keeper Alex Davies almost made a run out at his end, before launching the ball to bowler James Fuller who did run out Cobb. Just incredible entertainment.
INCREDIBLE SUPPORT
The Hundred is back and the fans love it. There was plenty of fantastic home support and long may it continue!
CAPTAIN LEADS FROM THE FRONT
Last year’s winning captain James Vince wasted no time in winning his side’s first match this year. An absolutely rapid 71 from 41 featured this stunning shot, and Brave demolished Fire.
