What to do if your cricket club has been affected by flooding
The impact of flooding can be devastating, causing damage to pavilions, grounds and equipment.
If your club has been affected by floods, responding in the right way can really help, and ECB can help.
Before doing anything though, there are two things you must do:
1) Put safety first: responding to the crisis at the club you love is a natural reaction but the first priority is always people’s safety – buildings and grounds can be dangerous at any stage of a flood. Do not put yourself or others at harm. Follow guidance from the emergency services and do not enter any building until it is safe to do so and do so carefully. Isolate your electricity and gas supply, and only reconnect on the advice of a suitable electrician or Gas Safe engineer when it is safe to do so.
2) Contact your insurer before doing anything: Do not rush to act - always contact your insurer first. Take lots of photo and video before you do anything – only take action once your insurer has said it is ok to.
