Knight suffers stress fracture

England Women's captain hopeful of returning in time for World Cup warm-up against Sri Lanka on 19 June.

England Women’s captain Heather Knight has sustained a small metatarsal stress fracture to her left foot and is expected to be out of action for up to six weeks.

For the first two to three weeks of her recovery Knight will wear a boot - designed to support the affected area - and will then spend the next two to three weeks back in light training and building back up to full fitness.

If her recovery goes as expected Knight should be available for selection for England’s ICC Women’s World Cup warm-up fixtures, starting on 19 June against Sri Lanka.
