ECB Development XI to play New Zealand Women confirmed

Hollie Armitage will captain an ECB Development XI against New Zealand Women on 21 June

The ECB Development XI to take on New Zealand Women in their 50-over warm-up match in Leicester on Friday 21 June has been confirmed.

Northern Diamonds’ Hollie Armitage captains the group while England performance batting coach Jon Lewis will lead the team as head coach.

Bowlers Kate Cross and Lauren Filer, who have been named in England’s ODI squad for the forthcoming Metro Bank ODI series against the White Ferns, both feature.

Having represented England U19s in their Tri Series against Sri Lanka and Australia earlier this year, Sunrisers’ Jodi Grewcock is also selected as well as Thunder duo Seren Smale and Fi Morris after impressing for their regions.

The warm-up fixture will act as preparation for the White Ferns ahead of their upcoming Metro Bank ODI series against Heather Knight’s England Women, which begins in Durham on 26 June, and important match experience for those selected.

The match takes place at the Uptonsteel County Ground, Leicestershire CCC on Friday 21 June with play starting at 11am.

Players from the four regional teams that qualified for Charlotte Edwards Cup Finals day on Saturday 22 June were not available for selection.
