England Women U19s 144-7 v Ireland Women U19s 28-2 - No result
Rain brought an end to England Women's U19 debut at the 2025 ICC Women's U19 World Cup, bringing around no result in their opening game against Malaysia.
Batting first, England posted 144-7 with runs for Davina Perrin (Warwickshire) and the Surrey trio of Charlotte Stubbs, Jemima Spence and Charlotte Lambert, Spence top-scoring with a 27-ball 37.
In reply, Ireland were 28-2 in the fourth over, with six overs needed for an outcome, before the weather intervened.
England's second group game comes at the same venue against Pakistan on Monday. You can watch all England Women's U19 fixtures live on Sky Sports.
Captain Abi Norgrove said: “It’s a frustrating way to start the competition but we can’t control the weather. It was great to get out there and start the competition and it’s a quick turnaround so we’ll get a chance to get back to it on Monday against Pakistan, hopefully the weather is on our side.”
