England Women U19 120-2 beat USA Women U19 119-5 by eight wickets
Warwickshire's Davina Perrin scored a commanding 74 from just 45 balls to take England Women U19 to a comfortable eight-wicket win over USA and secure their place in the Super Six stage of the ICC U19 Women's Cricket World Cup.
Perrin, playing in her second Under-19 World Cup, put on 117 alongside Durham all-rounder Trudy Johnson to make light work of USA's total of 119, England reaching their total inside 15 overs.
Once again with the ball it was a team effort, with three bowlers sharing the five wickets - one for Tilly Corteen-Coleman and two apiece for Johnson and The Blaze's Prisha Thanawala.
Perrin said: “it’s always so nice to get runs for the team but it’s way more meaningful when they contribute to a win and I’m really happy to help us get the points. Trudy batted really well, and we had a lot of fun, and hopefully as a group we can carry this momentum into the Super Sixes.”
Chris Guest's team will be back in action from Saturday, hoping to make it through to the last four of the competition.
