England Women U19 90-4 beat New Zealand Women U19 89 by six wickets
England Women's U19 team booked their place in the ICC U19 Women's Cricket World Cup semi-final with a six-wicket win over New Zealand.
Rain against Nigeria had left Abi Norgrove's side needing a win to make the last four and they had too much for their opponents.
Bowling first, Surrey's Tilly Corteen-Coleman took 4-8 to dismiss the Kiwis for 89. Her Surrey colleague Jemima Spence top-scored in England's chase, the target reached with eight overs left to spare.
The semi-finals will take place on Friday. Australia, India and South Africa are the other three teams in the last four.
Corteen-Coleman said: "We’re so happy to get through to the semis. The rained off game against Nigeria made it a bit tougher for us and we knew we needed to win today so it’s good to get the result we needed.
"I was really happy to take four wickets but it’s a team game and all about how batters and bowlers support each other, and everyone contributed to the win. Today was all about getting through to the semis and that’s the most important thing, so we can look forward to the last four now.”
