Inaugural inductees announced for T20 Hall of Fame presented by Vitality

Ravi Bopara, Charlotte Edwards, James Vince and Danni Wyatt-Hodge are the first four players to be inducted into the T20 Hall of Fame presented by Vitality

Ravi Bopara, Charlotte Edwards, James Vince and Danni Wyatt-Hodge are the first four inductees into the newly-created T20 Hall of Fame, presented by Vitality.

This marks an historic moment for men’s and women’s domestic T20 cricket in England and Wales as the game celebrates four of its iconic players on the eve of the new Vitality Blast season.

The inductees were selected for addition into the T20 Hall of Fame by an independent expert panel, alongside a public vote, from a 12-player shortlist that the ECB announced in March.

This summer’s new-look Vitality Blast begins on Friday 22 May, with ‘Blast Off’ when 16 double headers will be played over the opening Bank Holiday Weekend. Buy Vitality Blast tickets here.

T20 Hall of Fame presented by Vitality 2026 inductees

Ravi Bopara (Essex, Sussex, Northamptonshire)

Bopara had played all 23 seasons of the Vitality Blast until his retirement in the winter. He is the men’s competition’s third-highest runscorer (5,290), has taken the eighth-most wickets (169) and made the second-most appearances (236). A 2019 champion with Essex, his unforgettable 105* for Northamptonshire in last year’s quarter-finals sealed his legacy and his place in the Hall of Fame.

Bopara said: “For me it’s an honour to be recognised in that way. My whole journey has come along with the Blast since 2003. I think my proudest moment is winning it in 2019 with Essex - the best day of my career. I want to thank the fans. The fans have been unbelievable, they are the heartbeat of the Blast. I want to thank the fans for the song they made for me - I’ll never forget that. Hearing that song got me going every single time.”

Charlotte Edwards (Kent, Southern Vipers)

Edwards’ influence spans generations and continues as England Women’s coach ahead of this summer’s home ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Though much of her playing career predates the Hall of Fame qualification window, she remained a winner, leading Southern Vipers to the 2016 KSL title and 2017 final, then coaching them to Charlotte Edwards Cup victories in 2022 and 2023. Her legacy made induction inevitable.

Edwards said: “It’s a really proud moment. Having watched and been a part of a lot of Blast and T20 teams, to be in the Hall of Fame is a real honour. A real high was the 2016 KSL win against the Western Storm. First year of the Southern Vipers, I was captain of that team and to win that competition was a real domestic highlight for me.”

James Vince (Hampshire Hawks)

Vince is the Vitality Blast’s Mr Reliable, leading all domestic T20 players with 6,357 runs. He also tops the charts for half‑centuries and catches, and ranks second for centuries. As captain, he guided Hampshire to the dramatic 2022 title and was part of their 2010 and 2012 triumphs.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge (Lancashire Thunder, Southern Vipers, Surrey)

Wyatt‑Hodge has been a dominant domestic T20 batter, leading all scorers in the qualifying period with 1,710 runs. A three‑time champion with Southern Vipers and Surrey, her power, consistency and big‑game impact defines her career, making her an undeniable choice for the inaugural Hall of Fame.

Wyatt-Hodge said: “I’m chuffed to bits. I still feel a bit speechless. It’s really nice to be recognised for all my hard work over the last 18 years playing domestic cricket. I just love scoring runs for whoever I’m playing for. Still until this day I can’t believe I’m getting paid to play cricket at some of the best grounds in the country. My drive is that I just want to keep getting better, even now at aged 35 I want to keep improving.”

The T20 Hall of Fame is to become an annual celebration, recognising those people whose performances, leadership and influence have left a lasting legacy on the domestic game.

Players, coaches and administrators from across the major domestic T20 competitions in England and Wales are eligible for consideration.
