Anisha Patel - Northamptonshire Women's player & coach, South Asian Cricket Academy

I am currently the Head of Women & Girls' Cricket at Dorridge CC, where I am responsible for developing and delivering our female cricket offering. I am also completing my ECB Advanced Coach qualification and over the winter, I coached Northamptonshire's county age-group girls and now currently involved in the South Asian Cricket Academy (SACA) Women's Programme.

Growing up, and still to this day, playing and coaching cricket has always gone hand in hand with my education and work in the pharmaceutical industry. The biggest reason I continue to balance these commitments is from the positive experiences I had growing up in the game and the friendships I have made along the way. I now want to help ensure that as many females can enjoy the same experiences (and more!) at whichever they aspire to play at.

At Dorridge CC, we are proud to represent the entire female cricket pathway and have players at every stage of their journey, from grassroots participants to professional cricketers, who continue to enjoy, support, and develop their skills within the club. I believe this is a testament to the inclusive and supportive environment we have created, both on and off the field, as well as the strong connections we have across all sections of the club.

Cricket clubs offer far more than just the game itself. Whether as a player or a volunteer, getting involved is a fantastic way to become part of a welcoming community, build lasting friendships, develop valuable skills, and serve as a role model for the next generation.
