The ECB’s official kit supplier Castore has donated £150,000 worth of cricket and training kit to support women’s and girls’ cricket across England and Wales.
The donation has resulted in thousands of T-shirts and training tops being distributed through every Recreational Cricket Board (RCB), as well as kit being donated to participants and spectators at the African Caribbean Cricket Festival, helping to equip players and clubs at grassroots level and supporting the continued growth of the women’s and girls’ game.
The initiative builds on the momentum generated by a landmark summer for women’s cricket and reflects a shared commitment from ECB and Castore to make the game more accessible, inclusive and welcoming for women and girls across the recreational game.
The donated items include T-shirts from Castore’s collaboration with renowned designer Morag Myerscough, whose bold and colourful designs were created to celebrate women’s cricket and inspire the next generation of players and fans.
Myerscough’s distinctive designs gained widespread attention during England Women’s international campaign, with players wearing the collection as they arrived at venues throughout the summer. The range, which combines traditional England colours with vibrant contemporary tones, was created to celebrate diversity, creativity and the future of the women’s game.
By distributing the kit through the recreational network, ECB and Castore are ensuring that clubs and communities across the country can benefit directly from a campaign that has shone a spotlight on women’s cricket at all levels.
Ben Bradley, Head of Commercial Partnerships at the ECB, said: “Women’s and girls’ cricket is continuing to grow at an incredible pace as a key strategic priority for the ECB. Ensuring players feel welcome, valued and part of the cricket community is a key part of that journey.
“We are proud to work alongside Castore on this fantastic donation, which will see thousands of items of high-quality apparel reach clubs and communities across England and Wales and help inspire even more girls and women to get involved in the game.”
Tom Beahon, Co Founder at Castore, said: “At Castore, we believe sport has the power to inspire, unite and create opportunities. We are delighted to be working with the ECB to provide £150,000 worth of kit to women’s and girls’ cricket across England and Wales.
“The Morag Myerscough collaboration was designed to celebrate the energy, individuality and future of women’s cricket, and we are proud that these items will now be worn by players in clubs and communities throughout the country. We hope the donation helps more girls and women feel connected to the game and encourages the next generation to get involved.”
